Milton Towship Trustees

Dennis Hartzler – Term Expires: December 31, 2025

Dennis was elected Trustee in November 2005 and retired from the OARDC in December 2012. He obtained his Commercial Drivers License (CDL) and is an asset to the road department during the winter months, helping to keep our township roads clean and safe. Dennis is always ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed. He and his wife, Kris, have 4 grown sons and have resided in Milton Township their entire lives. Both Dennis and Kris are regular volunteers at the Sterling Fire Department fundraisers.

Rex Gasser – Term Expires: December 31, 2025

Rex was appointed to fill a trustee position in January 2012. He is a self-employed Electrical Contractor and has been instrumental in getting the Sterling School Park established. He is also the contact for the Sterling Crown Hill Cemetery. Rex and his wife, Sandy, have 3 grown sons and Rex is a lifelong resident of Milton Township.

Greg R. Piatt-Term Expires: December 31, 2027

Greg was elected Trustee in November 2015. He had previously served 16 years as a Milton Township Trustee from 1985-2001. Greg and his wife, Joyce (Hartzler) Piatt are both life residents of Milton Township and have 2 adult children and 7 grandchildren. Greg retired from the excavating business after 42 years as a laborer, operator, general manager, and owner of Piatt Excavating, LLC.

Milton Fiscal Officer

Jody Aubrey – Term Expires 3/31/2028

Jody was appointed on January 9, 2023, to complete the unexpired term of office until March 31, 2028.

FISCAL OFFICER DUTIES

Fiscal Officer duties include the management of all financial records, accounts and transactions as well as paying all bills, issuing checks and payroll. The Fiscal Officer is an independently elected public official with separate duties from the Trustees. The Fiscal Officer is elected to a four-year term starting on April 1st following the November election.

Milton Township Meeting Minutes/Meeting Dates

Monthly Business Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at Milton Township Hall located to the rear of the Sterling Fire Station at 13845 Kauffman Avenue, beginning at 7 p.m.

Occasionally a meeting date or time will need to be changed to accommodate schedules or an additional special or emergency meeting will be held. When this occurs, an announcement will be placed on the Home Page of the Milton Township website and on the Sterling School Park sign.

Trustee’s meetings are open the public. If you wish to address the Trustee’s, arrive at the beginning of the meeting. You will have an opportunity to address the Trustee’s, and when finished, you may leave or if you prefer, you can stay for the remainder of the meeting.
