Sterling Fire & Rescue Association

The Sterling Fire and Rescue Association consists of members of the Sterling Fire District as well as individual residents of Milton Township who want to volunteer their services to the department in other ways besides being a firefighter or EMT.  Voting privileges are granted to members of the Sterling Fire District (FF/EMT's) only.

The Association is primarily responsible for organizing fundraisers for the fire district, providing training CE's for fire district members, maintaining the building and grounds, making decisions purchases made with funds raised at fundraisers and assisting with food preparation and beverages for firefighters/EMT's on scene of a working fire.  Working fires typically require firefighters to be on scene for up to 12 hours and it is necessary to have sandwiches and water/Gatorade to help keep their stamina up.

The Association/Fire District members are also the body who reviews membership applications of those wishing to become a member of the Sterling Fire District as an EMT or Firefighter.   Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at the fire station and regular attendance is required in order to maintain an active status with the Association.  Our goal is to work together for the betterment of the fire department, association and our community.  If you are interested in becoming a volunteer with the Sterling Fire and Rescue Association, feel free to contact any member from the member roster or stop by on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 and we will be glad to provide you with additional information.  We hope to see you!
